Why I'm Here

Hi, I'm Mish. I'm just one of about a million people who are trying to get healthy and lose weight. I created this blog to keep myself accountable, stay inspired, and hopefully motivate someone else along the way.

I've been on the diet roller coaster since I was 10 years old, when I lost 20 pounds at Weight Watchers. Ever since then, I've been "normal" size, a bit overweight, and a lot overweight, which is how I am now. So what's going to be different this time? I had a wake up call at the doctor's office last week. My blood pressure has been borderline, and if it doesn't improve in the next 30 days I will need to go on medication. At 35 I'm too young for this (although, is there really every a good age to start taking BP medication?).

So, enough is enough. Time to do something. I signed up for WW online on Jan. 20, 2008. At my weigh in today I lost 2 pounds. A good start!

My format for this blog will be very short posts, similar to Slashfood (love that blog!). That way you can skip over the stuff that doesn't interest you. I'll be posting product finds that I use and love, meal ideas, recipes, etc.

I hope this will inspire you and me both!
